La Opinión’s annual Children’s Art Contest is one of our longest running signature event, and has grown into a much-anticipated program and event that generates enthusiasm among children, teachers, parents, principals and sponsors alike. The Children’s Art Contest continues to impact the lives of more and more children every year.

The concept is simple, but the rewards to the children are immeasurable. Each year hundreds of children throughout the Los Angeles Independent School District enter to win one of 100 art scholarships as part of the contest program. La Opinión’s long-standing relationships within the community and among community leaders offer the advantage to engage the Hispanic community in a manner that goes beyond traditional advertising channels.

Over the years, the Children’s Art Contest has awarded thousands of individual full-year art scholarships to the Los Angeles Music and Art School.
